Applehead Island is a gated peninsula community on Lake LBJ, recognized as one of the most desirable waterfront addresses in the Texas Hill Country. Properties here are defined by direct lake access, mature landscaping, and a setting that balances privacy with proximity to the water. Grubbs Construction built this custom home to make full use of that position.
Exterior and Approach
The home presents a composed, contemporary exterior: natural stone masonry paired with dark panel cladding and a paver motor court that establishes a deliberate tone before you reach the front door. The contrast between the stone and the darker architectural elements gives the facade a quiet confidence suited to its lakefront setting.
Interior and Living Spaces
Inside, the home is organized around light and view. Living spaces open toward the lake, and the relationship between interior and exterior is a consistent thread throughout the design — from the main gathering areas to the private quarters. Custom millwork, considered material selections, and careful proportions are visible throughout.
Builder's Involvement
Mason Grubbs was involved directly from early planning through construction and final walkthrough — coordinating site conditions on a waterfront lot, managing the sequencing of exterior cladding and stone work, and ensuring the interior finishes met the standard the setting demands. Every Grubbs home is built with that same continuity of oversight: the person you meet at the beginning of the project is the same person responsible for what gets built.
